Larry was born in the suburbs of Washington DC and grew up in the Silver Spring and Gaithersburg areas of Maryland. Having graduated from Gaithersburg High School, he went on to Salisbury State College where he graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. Post-baccalaureate degrees have gained additional knowledge and experience. While at Salisbury, he met Amy who was from Fallston, MD.  Larry and Amy have been married for 48 years, have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson.

Larry retired from Harford County Public Schools after 30 years where he was an elementary teacher and assistant principal. After retiring from the school system, he went on to serve in several churches as Director of Family Life Ministries, Director of Children’s Ministries, Director of Discipleship Ministries, as well as Ministry Leader and State Rep for Celebrate Recovery. When not working for the church, he has traveled for Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief, visited all of the lower 48 states with Amy, and worked a variety of part-time jobs.

Larry enjoys woodworking and refinishing furniture, restoring old homes, singing, playing his guitar, and being involved with the family doing projects. He likes spending time reading for pleasure and continually learning and studying the Bible.

Larry and Amy have served in various leadership roles together in Celebrate Recovery and are excited to bring this life-changing ministry to Faith Community Chapel.
