Dan was born and reared in central West Virginia. His first job after college was as a summer intern with NASA in Huntsville, AL. He was there when Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Dan met Jutta Hildegard Noot on a weekend retreat for the Wesley Foundation and they married the last semester of college. Dan and Jutta have two sons, homegrown Philip born in Munich, Germany and adopted Timothy from Indianapolis, IN.

Dan was drafted into the U.S. Army in Feb 1970, served for 24 ½ years, and retired in 1994. He also served another 24 years as a civilian staff officer in DoD, much of it in the Pentagon. Dan earned B.S. in Math from West Virginia Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Administration from George Washington University.

Dan has served on 25 teams to bring the Gospel to five different prisons in MD and DE. He visits military vets as part of the Hospital Chaplains' Spiritual Care Team. He brings the theme and scriptures to a Christian Recovery meeting at Oak Grove Baptist Church each Tuesday. Having hearts for the disadvantaged, Dan and Jutta have been sponsoring two World Vision children for the past thirty years. Hobbies include woodworking, reading, and cross-stitch.

Dan’s Mom always wanted him to be a pastor – so here he is. His Dad was usually quiet but supported his efforts.

Dan says he is fortunate to be a member of the FCC family and serve as Associate Pastor.
